What Types of Wines Do Long Island Wineries Produce?

Long Island Wineries produce a wide array of vines to suit the tastes of every visitor. But some varieties are more common than others.

That’s because winemaking is very dependent on the unique conditions where the grapes are grown. These factorsinclude the climate, the soil (or terroir), access to sun, wind, rain, ideal temperatures and so on. This is why different wine regions are known for different types of wine. Each variety of grape thrives in different conditions.

For example, the most well-known Tuscan wines from Italy tend to be made from Sangiovese grapes, such as Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino.

So, which types of wines is Long Island known for?
